The Ghana Education Services Administration has issued a letter dated 13 May 2022 with reference number GES/S&ID/MSCE/2022/253, signed by Ms. Patty E. Assan (Director, Schools and instruction division ) raised some concerns about primary schools. two history textbooks are currently in use.
This prompted the leadership of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) raised a decision with immediate effect, the approval of the textbook titled “History of Ghana Textbook for Primary 2” waiting for further scrutinization.
Management therefore urges all Regional Directors of Education to disseminate this information to all primary schools and primary 2 teachers to immediately discontinue the use of said textbooks for lessons.
Management strongly recommends that all teachers treat this information as a matter of urgency and that the textbook in question be collected and kept for retrieval. Below is a copy of the letter;
