The 1st runner up for the season 1 of Chop Da Mic popularly known on stage as Don Rhymer spit out his displeasure on the judges of the Chop da mic season 1.
According to Don Rhymer, the judges cheated on him by exchanging the ultimate winner to Oboy which he was supposed to be announced the winner base on statistics and performances on that night.
“Someone came and instructed the judges to change the results in favor of Oboy” He added
He stated this in an interview with Nyab Issah Bandambiyo on the Sankara yelo yelo drive time on the 15th February 2023.
He said “Even those that they evicted and their team members badge in and started congratulating me”.
He didn’t stop there, he also advised all musicians in the North to avoid choosing side when seeking for collaboration regardless of where the person is coming from and the town he/she is.
According to him, rivalry in music is what is killing our industry slowly therefore we should come together as one to build a strong fun base.
The organizers of Sagani TV Chop Da Mic, one of the famous reality shows in the country aimed at showcasing the hidden talents in the North to the rest of the world.
