The Concerned Citizens of Yendi have taken a significant step towards addressing the perennial flooding issue in the Sekafo area around the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).

On February 28, 2025, the group commenced work on a new drainage system designed to redirect floodwaters and prevent them from entering homes.

For years, the Sekafo area has been plagued by flooding whenever heavy rains hit Yendi. Despite the construction of gutters by the Eastern Corridor constructors, the problem persisted. However, with the new drainage system, residents can breathe a sigh of relief.

The drainage system will collect and redirect all running water from behind the ADB and surrounding areas, ensuring that it flows through the gutters instead of into people’s homes.

This proactive initiative by the Concerned Citizens of Yendi demonstrates their commitment to improving the lives of their fellow citizens.

The completion of this drainage system will not only alleviate the flooding issue but also contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. We commend the Concerned Citizens of Yendi for taking the lead in addressing this pressing concern and look forward to seeing the positive impact of their efforts.
