Man Utd are targeting Ansu Fati, who is a player in the FC Barcelona team , amid recent comments about his future from Jorge Mendes and Joan Laporta.

Ansu Fati has no aim of leaving Barcelona regardless of the interest from Manchester United.

The youngster has been linked with leaving the Nou Camp but has been identified as a key player under Xavi.

Fati was the only Barcelona player to appear in every game this season, before being left on the bench in the win over Villarreal.

Xavi usually calls up Fati from the bench but rather than consider his options, the Spain international wants to fight for a starting role, Mundo Deportivo reports.

Barcelona have a range of attacking options, including Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Raphinha.

Fati’s contract runs until 2027, which means Barcelona are in a strong position to keep the 20-year-old.

There is no shortage of interest in the striker but his aim is to help the Catalan side win back the LaLiga title when they are currently trailing Real Madrid.

Jorge Mendes has been helpful in deciding Fati’s future, but he maintains a strong relationship with Barcelona head Joan Laporta.

They have held discussions with any decision on a player’s next move at the end of the season with interest from United.

Those at Old Trafford are seeking to bolster their attacking options.

Erik ten Hag has yet to bring in a natural 9 – although Fati won’t fix that, he will add to the quality already in the team.

Antony was signed in the summer but has so far failed to meet his price tag as a winger.

Laporta was recently asked about Fati’s future and said:
“He is a Barca player for whom we have high expectations and we have no news that his agent wants to do anything.”

Fati wants to play more after seeing players of the same age, namely Pedri and Gavi, become mainstays in the starting line-up.

Fati said earlier this season Amid Man Utd transfer concerns:

“Yes, it is true that I was looking forward to playing more. I want to play but I understand the coach is the one who decides and I have to give my best every day to be able to turn the situation around.

Xavi said of his young striker:
“Everything will be fine with him, we have to be patient, he is a spectacular asset to the club, we trust him a lot, he works very well, he has a team spirit. Great training, but we have to be patient.

He’s 20 years old and needs time, like everyone else. Now is not the time to talk about sales.”
