What is Scheme of work
Scheme of work is a long-term outline or plan of what you want to teach in a particular subject during a semester or school year.
It’s a roadmap of where you want to go and the steps you need to take to get there. Typically, a teacher will need to establish a work plan for each subject they will be teaching.
Of course, as a home teacher you are not required to do this, however, we strongly recommend that you do, at least for the three core subjects of Math, English and Science , if not for all the subjects you plan to take protect your child.
There are many benefits to having a consistent work schedule, including making sure you don’t accidentally forget something important in your child’s education.
For example, continuing with multiplication when you miss an addition could get your child into trouble later on!
It is also a great tool to reduce your workload throughout the year. Sure, it can take a long time before you start teaching, however, once you are in the flow of things instead of looking for ideas for the next lesson, all you have to do is is refer to your lesson plan and that’s it!
