Bimbilla College of Education students are leaving campus because they have been stranded for three weeks due to the ongoing CETAG strike.

Some students are running out of money and options with no end in sight.

The strike began on June 14, 2024, as a result of the government’s failure to implement an arbitral award and agreed-upon service conditions.

The National Labor Commission issued an order to end the strike, but CETAG is not backing down and is demanding that their complaints be taken seriously.

Because of the strike, all administrative and academic operations have been suspended, raising questions about the future of the academic calendar.

Students shared their dissatisfaction and concerns about their academic calendar in an exclusive interview with Channel One News.

The strike has affected students across the country, including those at Bimbilla College of Education.

Final-year students are concerned that the academic calendar will be disrupted, potentially affecting their graduation in September, while first-year students are also concerned about the strike’s impact on their studies.

Despite the difficulties, some students are pursuing private studies to prepare for end-of-semester exams.

Meanwhile, Channel One News has learned that the next meeting to resolve the strike is set for August 6, 2024.

Students are urging the government to listen to the lecturers’ demands and facilitate their return to work, especially since it is an election year.
